Nordic Notes Special Edition: Oslo 2000 Congress

At the 19th Congress of Historical Sciences, held in Oslo from the 6th - 13th August, the program consisted of 48 sessions; three major themes, twenty special sessions and twenty-five so-called round table sessions. In addition to the regular sessions, up to 22 Affiliated Organizations (AIO) and 18 International Committees (IC) held seminars.

The poster sessions were a forum for students and professionals from around the world to share their ideas with colleagues by presenting research results, practical problem-solving efforts, or innovative programs. The poster sessions were displayed on bulletin boards and provided other congress participants with an opportunity to quickly and easily become acquainted with new topics. Poster sessions were held throughout the Congress. Some are reproduced here by courtesy of the authors. The poster sessions were coordinated by Arve Thorsen of the History Department of the University of Oslo, Norway.
